5-Ton Hoist Project

Engineering Plans

After over three years of meeting, planning, designing and re-designing for FWYC to obtain a hoist as a gift from Jim Tucker at the Boat Marina, the Hoist Committee has reached a decision.  The purpose of this project is to expand and enhance the long tradition of yachting at Fort Walton Yacht Club.  Many of today’s racing sailboats require a jib crane hoist capable of launching them from a trailer into deep water.
The goal of the hoist committee in creating the pad foundation and dock structure was to:
1.  Choose a design that will be affordable.
2.  Choose a location that would not interfere with other club functions.
3.  Design the project with self-help where possible to keep the cost down.

We are almost there!  We need your help in the form of monetary pledges toward the project.  We have had many members say that they were willing to donate something, so now is the time to pledge something.

Pledges can be sent by email to:  Faye Black - ffblack@gmail.com.  Any amount will be appreciated and welcomed.  It will be several months, after permitting before we will be collecting the pledges.
